This Gospel unites the Old and New Testaments. It presents Jesus as the Messiah and King promised in the Old Testament. Matthew emphasizes the authority and power of Jesus.

| 1 | The genealogy of Jesus Christ. Among the ancestors of Jesus we have: Abraham, Jacob, David, and Solomon. |
| 2 | It tells us about the wise men from the East, who guided by a star find and worship the boy Jesus. Soon after, Herod seeks the boy Jesus who flees with his parents to Egypt. |
| 3 | Jesus is baptized by John the Baptist in the Jordan River. |

| 20 | Jesus tells the parable of the workers in the vineyard. Jesus heals the blind man of Jericho. |
| 21 - 23 | The triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. The religious leaders argue with Jesus. He explains that the greatest commandment is to love God. |
| 24 | The prophetic sermon, the beginning of sorrows. Jesus will soon leave His disciples and warns them about what will happen in the future. |
| 25 | The prophetic sermon continues. Jesus tells the parable of the ten virgins, of the ten talents, speaks about eternal life and eternal punishment. |
