Chapters

1The people of Israel are enslaved in Egypt.
2Moses is born, hidden from Pharaoh's soldiers, but ends up being adopted by the princess. When grown, Moses kills an Egyptian and flees to Midian.
3, 4God speaks to Moses from the midst of the burning bush. God grants powers to Moses and commands him to return to Egypt.
5, 6Moses and Aaron speak to Pharaoh asking him to free the people, but God hardens Pharaoh's heart and he does not let the people go.
7 - 11Pharaoh continues with a hardened heart, so God sends His plagues upon Egypt. They are: The waters turn to blood; The plague of frogs; The plague of lice; The plague of flies; The plague of pestilence on the animals; The plague of boils; The plague of hail; The plague of locusts; The plague of darkness; Death of all the firstborn of Egypt.
11 - 13Pharaoh lets the people go.
13God guides the people through the desert with a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night.
14, 15Pharaoh changes his mind and decides to pursue the people, but God opens the Red Sea for the people of Israel to cross.
16, 17God sends manna, sends meat and water for the people in the desert.
18Moses meets his family in Midian.
19 - 24God speaks to Moses on Mount Sinai and gives the people the Ten Commandments and several other laws.
25 - 31God gives instructions for the construction of the Tabernacle.
32Moses takes a long time to come down from the mountain, then the people build a golden calf and begin to worship it. When Moses comes down from the mountain, he becomes angry and breaks the tablets of the law.
33, 34Moses rewrites the Ten Commandments on two stone tablets.
35 - 39The construction of the Tabernacle is completed.
40God commands Moses to raise the Tabernacle and then a cloud covers it.
